Production Engineer (Welding & Continuous Improvement)

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a successful and expanding manufacturing business seeking a Production Engineer to support the development and optimisation of welding operations across a busy production environment.

This position would suit someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, solving manufacturing challenges, improving processes and working closely with production teams to deliver tangible operational improvements.

A key requirement for this role is experience within a manufacturing environment involving manual and/or automated welding processes.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing manufacturing processes and identifying opportunities to improve productivity and throughput
  • Supporting and developing manual and robotic welding operations
  • Carrying out process analysis, time studies and capacity planning activities
  • Creating and maintaining production documentation, standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Leading and supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S and visual management projects
  • Improving material flow, logistics processes and inventory control methods
  • Investigating production issues and implementing sustainable solutions
  • Managing improvement projects from concept through to successful implementation

We're keen to speak with engineers who have:

  • Previous experience in a Production, Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement Engineering role
  • Strong understanding of manual and/or automated welding processes
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles within a production environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • The ability to engage effectively with production teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Project management experience and a track record of delivering operational improvements
  • Engineering qualification or equivalent practical manufacturing experience
  • CAD experience would be advantageous
